Zurich’s Skymetro links the main gate areas and E gates. The construction notice described a change still in the future on October 31, 2026, so don’t read it as a notice that the train had already closed.
Where to start
Check your flight gate and the current construction notice for the travel date. Separate tickets and unlinked bags may require a public-area recheck.
What this guide covers
This guide focuses on the routes below, using research dated 2026-10-31. It can’t confirm every airline, gate, entry rule, accessible path or service change at Zurich Airport on your travel day.
Routes and pickup points
Start with the direction and access area that match your trip. A public shuttle, a secure-side bus and a city coach may all appear on one airport map, but they take you to different places.
A/B/D main building → E gates
| Service and access | automated people mover; secure/transit area, only if eligible |
|---|---|
| Direction | The service is described in both directions. A reverse pickup and timetable still need their own check. |
| Boarding point | Not specified in the selected source. |
| Alighting point | Not specified in the selected source. |
| Fare status | faren't established |
Eligibility and checks
- Passport and security checks depend on the itinerary.
- Confirm the gate for the actual flight.
Still unconfirmed: replacement-bus stop during construction hours.

Connection procedure
Separate tickets and baggage
- If bags aren't through-checked, a self-transfer may require collection and a new check-in in the public area.
- Confirm nationality or visa conditions and the baggage arrangement with the airline.
Changes and service warnings
Check the effective date and the current operator notice before following a saved route.
Skymetro work scheduled from 3 November
A 30 October 2026 notice schedules work from 3 November 2026 into May 2027, with one tunnel and peak-period replacement bus plans. On 31 October it was a future change, not a completed closure.
What remains to confirm
Before you use one of these routes, check the operating carrier, flight date and current stop with the airport or transport provider. These records can’t tell you whether your bag is checked through, whether you may enter the country, how long the queues are or whether you have enough time to connect.
