Two flights can list the same city and still use different airports. If the three-letter codes differ, plan a ground trip plus entry, baggage and a new check-in.
Compare airport codes first
JFK and EWR, Heathrow and Gatwick, Tokyo Haneda and Narita, Paris CDG and Orly, Bangkok BKK and DMK, and Dubai DXB and DWC are different airports. Don't use an interterminal shuttle planner for these trips.
Build the full ground journey
Plan arrival controls, baggage reclaim, travel to the other airport, airline check-in and departure security. Ground transport can change with traffic or schedules. Dubai Airports describes DXB and DWC as about 60 km apart and publishes its own transfer advice.
Confirm the booked itinerary
Use both airport operators, the ground transport operator, the operating airline and the destination government’s entry guidance. This site doesn't calculate a minimum connection time between airports.
