A self-transfer may look like one connection on your booking. But it can mean entering the country, collecting a bag, checking in again and clearing security. Check those steps before choosing a route.
Start with the tickets
Look at both bookings. A single reservation is a clue, but it doesn't alone prove that bags are checked through or that you can stay in transit. Ask the operating airlines what happens at the intermediate airport.
- Are the flights at the same airport code?
- Do you hold the next boarding pass?
- Is a checked bag tagged to the final destination?
Map the required path
If you must collect and recheck a bag, plan the route through arrival controls, baggage claim, customs where applicable, the next airline desk and departure security. Confirm entry eligibility with the relevant government; this site can't make that decision.
For a same-airport terminal change, use the airport-specific guide and keep airside and public-area options apart.
Avoid a false time promise
A shuttle’s ride time is only one component. Add your actual walk, wait, immigration, baggage, check-in, security and gate travel. Since these can change, no generic “safe minimum” is calculated here.
