At O'Hare, Terminals 1, 2 and 3 have secure-side pedestrian links. Terminal 5 is different: the general route uses the Airport Transit System, while a restricted Terminal Transfer Bus may serve eligible connecting passengers during published hours.
Where to start
Check your departure terminal and whether you have a same-day boarding pass. Use O'Hare's current transportation page to determine whether you qualify for the airside bus; otherwise plan for the ATS and another security screening.
Check the flight you actually have
Start with the operating carrier, flight number and travel date. A codeshare name by itself can’t tell you the terminal or whether your bag is checked through.
Terminal and transfer movement
The airport currently lists the TTB at T1 Gate C18B because the previous B1 stop is temporarily closed. It lists T3 Gates G17 and K20 and T5 Gate M13, with a published 11:30 a.m.–9:30 p.m. service window. Outside the bus window, the airport directs passengers between the core terminals and T5 to the ATS and TSA rescreening.

Times describe a vehicle segment or published frequency, not a full flight connection. Check current official information before following a stop or timetable.
Before you rely on this route
TTB access is for connecting passengers with a same-day departure from the destination terminal. The temporary T1 stop and hours are changeable; check the official page and signs on your travel day.
- TTB pickup and hours may change; reconfirm at travel time.
- ATS may require rescreening.
This guide can’t decide your entry eligibility, bag handling, gate assignment or a safe connection time. Check those details for your own flight.
Common questions
Can I walk airside from T1 to T5?
O'Hare says T1, T2 and T3 have secure pedestrian links, while T5 doesn't. Use the published ATS or eligible TTB option.
Is the TTB always available?
No. Its hours and boarding-pass eligibility are limited, and the T1 pickup is affected by construction.
